The Irreducibility of Certain Pure-cycle Hurwitz Spaces

چکیده
We study “pure-cycle” Hurwitz spaces, parametrizing covers of the projective line having only one ramified point over each branch point. We start with the case of genus-0 covers, using a combination of limit linear series theory and group theory to show that these spaces are always irreducible. In the case of four branch points, we also compute the associated Hurwitz numbers. Finally, we give a conditional result in the higher-genus case, requiring at least 3g simply branched points. These results have equivalent formulations in group theory, and in this setting complement results of Conway-Fried-Parker-

A Note on Hurwitz Schemes of Covers of a Positive Genus Curve
Let B be a smooth, connected, projective complex curve of genus h. For w ≥ 2d we prove the irreducibility of the Hurwitz stack H Sd (B) parametrizing degree d covers of B simply-branched over w points, and with monodromy group Sd.

Pure-cycle Hurwitz number counts the number of connected branched covers of the projective lines where each branch point has only one ramification point over it. The main result of the paper is that when the genus is 0 and one of the ramification indices is d, the degree of the covers, the pure-cycle Hurwitz number is dr−3, where r is the number of branch points. In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic system of equations, a type of nuclear ssion reactor is solved analytically and numerically. Considering that the direct solution of three-dimensional dynamical systems analysis and more in order to determine the stability and instability, in terms of algebraicsystems is dicult. متن کاملIntegral Specialization of Families of Rational Functions
Suppose C is an algebraic curve, f is a rational function on C defined over Q, and A is a fractional ideal of Q. If f is not equivalent to a polynomial, then Siegel’s theorem gives a necessary condition for the set C(Q)∩f−1(A) to be infinite: C is of genus 0 and the fiber f−1(∞) consists of two conjugate quadratic real points. We consider a converse. Let P be a parameter space for a smooth fami...
متن کاملEvaluating tautological classes using only Hurwitz numbers
Hurwitz numbers count ramified covers of a Riemann surface with prescribed monodromy. As such, they are purely combinatorial objects. Tautological classes, on the other hand, are distinguished classes in the intersection ring of the moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces of a given genus, and are thus “geometric.” Localization computations in Gromov-Witten theory provide non-obvious relations betwee...
